What stays on your device

The rota is built in the page, by a solver running in your browser. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Names never leave this computer: the list, the rota and every printout are made and kept in this browser, and nothing is uploaded.

The services, ministries, people, rules, drafts, swap log and quarters are written to your browser's own local storage, under keys beginning with pewrota. and nowhere else. They belong to one browser on one computer: they do not follow you to another device, they are not backed up anywhere, and nobody else can read them. Save a backup file to keep a copy. Clearing site data for this site removes everything permanently and immediately.

Typeface

Text is set in Schibsted Grotesk by Bakken and Baeck for Schibsted Media, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font file is served from this site, so no font service sees your visit. The licence sits beside it at /fonts/OFL.txt.

Children

Altar servers and other young volunteers are often children. PewRota asks for no birthdate, age, address, phone number, email address or school, and a pasted column of birthdates is ignored. A first name and initial, or initials alone, are enough. The site is used by adult schedulers and is not directed at children.

No accounts

There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password. Every free part of the site works without identifying yourself in any way.

What is collected

No account, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you type. Standard web server logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time, and a network address, in the ordinary way that any web server records a request.

Purchases and access checks

If you buy a paid plan, the payment is handled by RevenueCat and Stripe, who receive what a checkout needs. PewRota never sees your card.

With billing switched on, every page checks your access with RevenueCat when it loads, before and without any purchase, using an anonymous id created in this browser. That check sends the anonymous id and what any web request carries, such as a network address, and never a name, a rota or anything you typed.

Reminders

The reminder text is written for you to copy into your own email or messages. PewRota sends nothing itself, so it never holds anyone's email address or phone number.

Cookies

PewRota sets no cookies of its own, and carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page.

Contact

Questions about privacy go to [email protected]. Since nothing is stored on a server, most requests are answered by telling you which local storage keys to clear. The rota builder and the guide work the same whether or not you ever write in.
